Pharos logo - rawWhat is Pharos?

Founded in October 2012, Pharos editions publishes exquisitely designed editions of out-of-print, lost, or otherwise rare books of distinction. While many other publishers have launched similar backlist imprints to great success, we work to distinguish ourselves through a unique partnership with established authors. Our growing list of collaborators are Sherman Alexie, Jonathan Evison, Ursula K. Le Guin, David Guterson, Matt Groening, David Shields, Dana Spiotta, Cheryl Strayed, Jess Walter, and Lidia Yuknavitch.

What makes Pharos different from other reprint series?

Unlike modern reprint series like New York Review of Books, Melville House,  and Barnes and Nobles Classics, Pharos is teaming up with today’s best authors first and asking them to select a title that is out-of-print or hard to find that means a lot to them which they would love to re-introduce to readers everywhere. We secure the rights then redesign the title with the author’s introduction in an aesthetic, high-quality package. The response from authors and booksellers has been overwhelmingly positive!
